1.1 Intended AudienceThis manual is intended to be used by the Tier 1 support personal in various departments, Tier 2 support in WorkStation Support and other Linux System Administrators at Yale. These people should be able to quickly see how to install Redhat Linux and how to configure the systems.
1.2 PurposeMuch time is often wasted learning how systems are set up, configured and what software is installed. This manual is intended to help you save some time. If you are just starting out doing system administration, this guide can help you feel comfortable about learning the tools used and needed by the systems and step you through some basic concepts. Also, experienced sysadmins can use this guide as a help reference guide.
