4. What and Where are the ssh files?

Here are the ssh files from www.ssh.com:

  • /usr/local/bin/ssh
  • /usr/local/bin/scp
  • /usr/local/bin/sftp
  • /usr/local/bin/ssh-keygen
  • /usr/local/sbin/sshd

Here are the ssh files from OpenSSH:

  • /usr/bin/ssh
  • /usr/bin/scp
  • /usr/bin/sftp
  • /usr/bin/ssh-keygen
  • /usr/local/sbin/sshd

ssh is the client binary program. scp is the secure copy binary program. sftp is a secure copy program similar to ftp. ssh-keygen is the ssh key generation program. sshd is the ssh server daemon.
